New standards for the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

As you may be aware, the new standards for the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 were released in September 2015.

If you currently hold ISO 9001:2008 or ISO 14001:2004 Certification you will need to be compliant to the new ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards by having your system upgraded and passing your External Audit before the end of September 2018.

We are offering onsite assistance with the transition of these standards to the new requirements.

The ISO 9001:2015 revision contains key improvements which include:

  • a common high level structure and numbering system based upon Annex SL in line with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 27001:2013
  • a greater commitment from leadership
  • a change of emphasis to ‘process risk’ based thinking enabling a pro-active approach
  • a broader measurement, planning and implementation view
  • more effective communication, driven through a communications strategy

The ISO 14001:2015 revision contains key improvements which include:

  • a greater commitment from leadership
  • an increased alignment with strategic direction
  • greater protection for the environment, with a focus on proactive initiatives
  • more effective communication, driven through a communications strategy
  • life-cycle thinking, considering each stage of production or service provision, from development to end-of-life
